Got a call from Davey 2 Poles a little while ago. A buddy of his was trying to put a last minute Bluefin trip on his boat and needed some guys... I got clearance from the tower (wife) made a few more calls to fill out the trip and we are on!!
Leaving from the Manasqaun inlet around 3:45 on Knot Now a 34 Boston Whaler Conquest with trips. One of my all time favorite boats so if we happen to catch fish, it will be a bonus.
If anyone else is heading out and looking to buddy up give us a shout on 68.
Super excited and now the most difficult part...Trying to get some sleep while being so excited.
Full report to follow.

Thanks for the invite. If it wasn't for fishing the last two days and didn't have a BBQ at my house Saturday. Well you know.
Good luck

We had to do some searching but we got 10 unders, keeping our one and could not get our over.... Had a few mahis in the mix but they came unbuttoned.
Too tired to type right now so full report and pics when I can muster up some energy.

So our crew consisted me, Davey 2 Poles, Bob Reefsquater, Joey C Escape and our fearless leader Steve.
Bit of a lumpy and windy ride going out of the inlet until 10 or so miles out. Very tight washing machine 3 to 4s but the Whaler sucked it right up. We arrived on the grounds around 6 am and saw some Porpoise first thing but no love in the spread. After an hour or so Steve decides to make a move a bit more north and east. Trolled around that area and had a Mahi or 2 come check us out and but still nothing had come come tight.
At this point Steve is getting a bit frustrated... It's going on 9:00 and the bite is usually over by 10...We heard a few boats on the radio that had a bite going but did not know where they were. Pulled lines up and made another move further North and East and saw a small fleet working a very concentrated area. Lines in and we immediately came tight on what would be our first of 10 unders.
Stayed there the rest of the day and did a mix of trolling and jigging with the jigs accounting for most of our fish. Would have been nice to get or our over but I don't think anyone fishing that area had one. They were all 34 to 35 inch cookie cutters.
Great day out on the water with good company and some fish to keep it interesting. It was also a real treat for a boat enthusiast like me to spend the day on one of my favorite boats, the 345 Whaler Conquest.

Was a really great trip and the 34 Whaler was about as comfortable as any boat I been on, the 360 degree viewing from the helm is incredible and anywhere you turned, they thought of what you might need was there, railings, coolers, bolsters, boxes, and so many little touches.
Steve put us over good marks in the morning and just wanted fish in the boat, I swear if we didn't find them we might still be headed east.
Fun jigging up a few for a change.
Great guys and a big thanks for the invite.
