Don't want to get too repetitive but Capt John and mate Rich on the Golden Touch deserve a post. Ran the Elks with Capt john again this year with the Blind Squirrels, Richie (Tropics) Glenn (Fin reaper), Larry (hartattack), George(Gdubya) and Henry (Jakesdad) This team is coming together as a whole and will be something to reckon with sooner than later.

Golden Touch is a perfect platform for tourney and everyday any kind of fishing. Plenty of room in the cockpit for the half a million dollars of gulp, Bucktails and rods. Everything is readily available which is super important in tourney fishing. In or out of the fleet Capt John sure knows his spots and the bottom structures in even the most popular areas along with some of his own personal spots. He burned the fuel when necessary and put us on great structure and fish all day. We already re-booked for next years tourney again!

Richie Tropics started us off right with a nice 5+ lbr , I added another 5+ twin after that and then we picked away with everyone adding mixed size Fluke, along with keeper seabass, ling and assorted other species. Action all day and last but not least got what I thought was the right hit. Pulled him out of the rocks and after the net job we had a 27"er in the boat. Didn't think it would win but normally a fish that size will get on the board.

To our disappointment it was wearing an "Insanity" work out shirt and just finished a morning jog as it only weighed 6.6.

Congrats to all winners and had another great trip on the GT with a stellar crew.

Dales,
Nice report! If anyone from your team cannot make it next year, I would love to join the team. Capt. John and Rich do an amazing job and I am sure during a tournament they work even harder if that is possible.

Going out with them Wednesday. Hope they are still biting.

As a general rule of thumb a 24" =4#. 25"=5#. 26"=6#. Etc
I know there are exceptions but this will put you in the ballpark if you dont have a scale readily available.

Great report, better luck next year. I second the kudos to John and the Golden Touch. Fished with John for blackfish and can say he is definitely top notch!

Sounds like you all found some nice fish and had a good day. What did the bigger fish hit?

Nice report and glad you had a good day. With that crew it is almost impossible not to have a good time. Team Blind Squirell is sure to be on the board very soon.
