We had our annual trip with Larry Fred and crew for the PP Elks today. Capt Kenny had the wheel as usual for this tournament as I have my niece's bday celebration every year on the date of the tournament.
The guys took a ride this AM to find that one big fish and got into a solid bite of shorts and some keepers, mostly cookie cutter 19-23" fish but no contender :(
At 11 they took a ride to fish some rough stuff closer to home and found little to no life - another move put them back into some fish and a couple more nice fish, but again no "contenders."
They called it a day around 330 with 16 in the box to 24" and 5.5# -- WMD Fred led the way with a limit +. They fished their asses off but it wasn't meant to be. Fishing was definitely tough but it's slowly, very slowly, getting better.
(Pic below is part of the catch - the rest already went under the knife as the guys wanted to get the fish cut and outta there lol)
