Where are you sailing from? Depending where, I would start at the BA Buoy and troll the edge of the Mudhole through the lobster pots at the farms, to the oil wreck and then out to the Ledge, Lillian - If you are further south, then go out to the slough, Little Italy, cross the hole to the ledge, up the edge, cross back over to the Lillian area - you should see some boats out there - monitor ch 65 on the vhf.

Best general advice is to head east, stop short of the western edge of the mudhole and troll along the edge to the south..If nothing is happening there then head off into the deep and do the same on the eastern edge.
Pay close attention to your chart plotter and look for 2 things... Areas where there are distinct drop offs and any wrecks... Troll right over any wrecks on or near your path.
If all else fails find some pots and troll around them for Mahi. The pots are usually right on the edges so a good spot for blue fins too.

ballyhoos in select, large and horse sizes... joe shutes in varying weights... green and white splash bars... maybe have some purple, too.
I'm heading to the East End tonight and I'm amped for Thunnus thynnus!... and the baccala!
