This morning we had some good BLUEFISHING with the 5 to 8 lb BLUES all on Hammer jigs & Croc's.

That fishing slowed down in the late morning so we took a shot and went to an area where we had seen bird life & bait. Well I saw a couple of splashes and a few fish finning on top and we stopped the boat and insatntly had 5 or 6 fish on and you could tell they were big fish.

They were big fish ok - BIG BLACK DRUM FISH - TO 80 LBS. We landed about 10 of them and lost 40 or so. Several of the fish spooled reels before you could get the fish stopped. It was a GREAT afternoon catching these DRUM fish.

See pic's below.

Yes, they are very good eating. Last one I cubed up, seasoned, little flour and wokked it up. Excellent. It's also fun watching the mate struggle to fillet them. :)

These drums are an awesome sight to behold. Looks like a brown tide off in the distance and the thought that invariably pops up first is stripers! Big HUGE stripers! Uh oh, that ain't no striper. Lol, now that would be something, a fleet of 70lb stripers.
