I read these posts and look at web sites from the LBI Party boats and my question is where are the bluefish or dónde están los pescado azul?

Either too far offshore to get to or way in some of the backwaters.

The reason I ask is its seems to be a probelm. The DM out of Barnegat Light has stopped its evening trips. I was told the bluefish champion that is the MBL out of Barnegat Light is not bluefishing now. Not sure about the "D" in Point Beach in the evening or the Gambler fro that matter.
I remember fishing on the Miss Norma K and we were fluke fishing and we had bluefish riots going on. Now I guess its not the same

The bluefishing from years past has not been the same for a number of years now. The LBI fleet hasn't fished for blues in like forever. You know its bad when the Miss BL is fluke fishing!:eek::eek:
I personally haven't been on a night bluefishing trip in probably 3 years! They just haven't been coming inshore lately for some reason.

The Gambler is fishing Friday and Saturday nights. NormaK III 7 nights a week. The D is trying to get out not sure if it's just weekends. As stated before the fishing has changed . August and September should be better . I think last year was one of the worst July's that I can remember .

^Agreed. And this year is shaping up to be very similar. I was hoping the smaller guys would swarm in again. Hit a PB and put a teaser rig on and limit out on the blues in 20minutes then switch to a bucktail/gulp and almost get my limit of fluke by trips end, lol.

The bluefish are getting their swerve on offshore right now....happens for 1 month every year and even if you find them they go lock jaw. By mid-end of July it will be game on again. By mid-late August we should start seeing some false albies mixed in with them too...especially offshore just a bit.
Two years ago we had them at SRR all summer....I don't think they ever took a break!
The Brielle boats are are even ground fishing now after they strike out on blues...happened last year around this same time too.
Give it time and they will be back.

On July 9th last year the Golden Eagle went 36 miles offshore and found the big ones and we had a great day on 10-15lb fish. Went back the next day and the same thing. That lasted for a week. Then the pee wees came inshore in force until 8/21 when the GE said enough of this (thank God), went NE and found the monsters. Boy, talk about a shock, going from 1/2lb fish to 20+lbs! That lasted clear through to 10/20 when the GE took a full boat on that epic Jones Beach trip where we boated 130 bass to 43lbs!
So while things look bleak right now let's hope we get that bang up late summer/fall repeat.

I remember a few years ago Al Ristori saying that there is great ling fishing between the Ridges. With the speed of the MBL I am surprised they don't go out there for ling.
