Ran our first open boat fluke trip of the year Monday. Ran up north. South wind was already starting to blow a tad when we got to the grounds but there was still a very strong southerly current. Bounced around till we finally found a few bites, but things were short lived as the south wind started picking up.
By 10AM the wind was really honking, and coupled with the current, things got very tough.
Made at least 2 dozen different drops trying to find just a pick, but couldn't get anything going. Wound up with only a handful of keepers to 21" and a ling. VERY tough day for us with a great crew who gave it their all!
Things will get better!!
