Had Dave Parker's charter on for a bottom fishing trip.

Ran south to start to our local reef, where we've been catching seabass and ling pretty well. We read the life, had very few good bites, and caught some shorts n bergalls. After 45 minutes of bouncing around, it was time to make a move.

We then ran up the beach and finally found some decent life on a rockpile in around 50' of water. Mostly nice 13-15" seabass with ling mixed in - after a while that dried up so we made a move, and had slower action. We then at around noon time decided to run off a bit to some deeper water and focus more on the ling and made a drop in ~105' and had excellent life with the ling. Basically drop and reel fishing, double headers, and some real nice 2-3# ling. Mostly mediums and a few jumbo's. We also plucked 3 nice fat winter flounder off this piece, one was 14", another 16", and the biggest 18" and around 3#. Real nice fish.

When all was said and done we boxed only 15 keeper seabass, the 3 flounder, but had well over 100 ling in the box (2+ baskets full) - a real good day of fishing for a great group of guys with LOADS of meat to go home... Thanks for coming out!
