The NJ Division of Fish & Wildlife has teamed with National Teen Anglers a non-profit organization that establishes fishing clubs (salt and freshwater) in middle and high schools throughout the country. Teens can participate in tournaments held between chapters and states that culminate in a National tournament held in Florida or they can just fish for the fun of it.
The 11th Annual non-competitive NJ Teen Angler Event is planned for July 19, 2014 at the Pequest Hatchery Fishing Education Pond for anglers ages 12 – 20.
Rainbow trout in excess of 6 lbs. can be caught (please bring a cooler w/ice if you want to take your catch home) and prizes will be handed out to all. Free drinks & hot dogs will be provided for lunch.
A parent or guardian must accompany you, and you must be wearing sunglasses or other protective eyewear. Bring your own fishing equipment, or use ours. Barbless hooks only. Please bring worms for bait.
National Teen Anglers is a 501(c) 3 Not –for-Profit that offers No-Fee
ongoing long term Recreation and education To America’s middle and high
school teens.
