Decided to hit the monksville reservoir for a few hours this morning. As a new comer to the yak world i was a lil apprehensive to go alone, damn I'm glad i went! I can totally see the attraction, its all in its simplicity. No motors that won't start or idle, no flat trailer tires or dead batteries. I'm hooked! I only purchased a basic 10'6" sit in, compartments and rod holders. Buy nothing fancy. Tracked pretty straight to my surprise. Ill need to add a fish finder and rod holders in the front but for an entry level yak at$349.99 I'm pleased.
Unfortunately, there was no fish to be seen, barely even bait fish. Text book scenarios. produced nothing at all. There were lots of guys out and i know pressure is non stop. However i personally just didn't see anything at all. Ill call it a successful failure.

Glad to hear you got out there with no troubles buddy. There's fish in there somewhere. You'll get em, just keep it simple. Kayaking is very relaxing. Try going out there at night alone, that's a dark dark place at night, LOL!

Welcome to the world of Yak fishing. Wait till you get dragged around by a fish or two! I've had hybrids hit my topwater lure so close to the yak that they get me soaked. Good luck. Feel free to ask questions.

We paddling next week?

As Mikey said, you are better off fishing in your bathtub than Monksville lol.

Congrats on the new vessel there buddy. Best of luck with it. If you're going with Skunk you'll be getting dragged around by a big toothy critter real soon for sure. Be careful out there....that boy crazy in that yak!!! Hang on and enjoy the ride!
