Hey guys just taking a poll on what specific model Lexa 300 is everyone using for inshore fishing? And what have you used it for with good results? What did you try it for with not so good results?
300 H
300 HS
300 HS-P
300 PWR

No one uses a Lexa 300?? Reason I ask is because I feel my HS-P just doesn't have the power as I expected. Heard guys were using them for blackfish but I felt trying to reel up a modest fish took some work. So I'm thinking about trying a lower gear ratio model.

I used the HS power handle for fluking and stripers a few years ago and was happy with it.
since then have been using an ABU revo NACL , little more expensive but its a WAY better reel.

Thanks for the response. See that reel comes in a lower ratio then the Lexa HS. Makes me tend to believe the lower ratio model Lexa might be a better fit.

Love my Lexa 300HSL-P (lefty) for bucktailing Fluke. Casts like a bullet, light-weight, and since I'm a righty I do not have to switch hands before I start bouncing those jigs  And as far as power is concerned - it whupped a 30+ pound ray last year without any issues !!
Wouldn't use it for Togging though
Go with the lower gear w/ power handle

A Lexa 300 with the 5:1 gear ration is on my Father's Day list. Also going to go with the left handed version (I'm also a righty) and power handle.
I know guys down in Florida that use these reels for blackfin tuna and have no problems.
Hammer, just out of curiosity-what model Revo NACL are you using ?

I use a 300 HS-P. No complaints so far on blackfish, fluke, offshore seabass.

U use the 300 HS-P for offshore seabass??
I had problems with reeling in a 8lb blackfish, couldn't imagine what a couple of big seabass or pollack/cod from 200ft would be like! I ended up selling my HS-P and picked up a regular HS(found it cheap lol) for fluking. Considering the PWR or reg H version for inshore blackfish/seabass.
