Got the invite to fish with Henry (Jakesdad) on his Parker today for Opening Day Flatties.
Fog outside not favorable and Henry's experience of early season fluking came through as he made the right call and stayed "inside".

Constant action on the outgoing with probably 100 shorts between the 5 of us.
Bagged some nice Keepers and took a break for more bait and some sandwiches. Tide changed and bite slowed on incoming but still picked away.

Total: 8 nice Keepers out of all that but who's complaining. great day out with good friends and we got plenty for the table. Everyone (except LOU :D) chipped in with 2 keepers each.

Thanks Henry for a great start to the season

Way to go Team !! Gotta love that 'inside' bite, heck you probably started the drift right outside Henry's marina and only had to run the engine when it was time to get back to the barn  Nice opener :)

Dave, that was 9 keepers, but who's counting. Drift started 30 seconds from the dock and continued to the Ocean Ave. bridge. Bite was constant, went thru 2/12 lbs of spearing in first 2 1/2 hours.

Water temp 55.7 to 57.2,water was pretty clear for having had rain overnight, dense fog at times, but very easy to see both sides of the river. Caught better on the outgoing than the incoming.

Good times, good friends and best of all caught some fish. Lou on the other hand lost 2 fish between 4 - 6 lbs within sight of the boat. All fish on bait, plain gulp did not produce.

Nice going Dave , Henry and crew - dragging bait usually does better in the beginning of the year - 'you know I will still try and bucktail though

Keep catching
