View Full Version : First Bass trip of the year & fish to 54.7#

Took a couple of friends Alex and Alex from Princton out for the first trip of the Striper trip of the year and what a way to start it off,we all had our personal best today, We had 15 bass from 30# to my new personal best 54.7 pound slob. and also countless gator blue fish in the 12-15#+ range. It was a beautiful day on the water and lights out fishing!!! couldnt ask for a better way to start the year! The pictures do not do the fish justice , it was 54.7# and 50 1/2" long, im a little over 6' and 230# as a ref. the fish was over 14" across its back, very thick fish. oh and yes i did take the fish, but we only kept 3 bass for the table out of the 15 releasing the others for all the "Fish Huggers" out there! lol ,JUST Joking!!!!!, the fish would have gone back but the bunker snag beat up her gills to bad, and she was bleeding pretty bad!!!! she would have died!

Arat,

I edited my origional post, I did not want to kill it , but didnt want it to go to waste with it being injured! I would of gladly let that pig swim another day, they kinda tast like $#it when they are that big.
