We had our 15th annual Fish With Me charter today where we make 5 trips 1 1/2 hours each. We take Kids as young as 3, who for the most part would never get to fish, out for a boat ride and some fishing. We are limited on where we can go in such limited time and spent most of the day at the point where we had good fluke fishing with terrible conditions.

We had fish to over 5 pounds. All on spearing with no gulp or squid. Plus almost everyone had no experience and used rental rods. Often beginners do best as they listen to advice.

I can hardly wait till Friday when a lot of these tasty critters will go home.

CHECK THE SMILES!!!!

I spoke to some NY bottom boats and they said the ling fishing was slow today. This was expected with yesterdays weather. Tomorrow and Monday should be better.

NOT SAILING TUESDAY

GALLEY OPEN

THANKS CAPTAIN GEORGE

Not to ruffle feathers, but you took beginners out to fish for a species of fish that are legally protected until May 23?

Not to ruffle feathers yallknowme...George does that every year introducing young, underprivileged kids to the sport of fishing and I hope he continues to do that every year as well. Look at the smiles on the kids faces and it's hard to question George's intent. We aren't talking about guys using g loomis rods and buck tails either. Wow!

I don't remember reading he kept fluke. And with that C&R is ideal. Conservation. I think he also wrote that he can hardly wait until Friday when he can actually bring the fish home.

I think its a great idea Capt. George.

The season for fluke is closed but it is perfectly legal to target them as long as they are released.

Kudos to you Capn! you made great and lasting memories for lots of young anglers. pay no mind to the haters....there are always a few. The fact that those kids couldn't keep their prized catches during the 3rd week in May is a crime in itself.

Just seeing the smiles and the thrill is my reward, and I did not mention that there were commercial hook and line fluke boats at times within 10 feet of me, catching and keeping tons of fluke as small as 14 inch. The fluke they caught did not look too protected. And for the books IDON'TCARETOKNOWU. GEORGE ANGLER
