Last minute 3-man charter today - FINALLY got into some bass!!
Started early, ran up the beach at first light looking for bunker locally to no avail.
We then ran way up, found some bait, and finally found loads of life, but no bunker to throw the net on or snag, so we wound up putting out the plugs and went up on the troll. Troll bite was crazy as bluefish were immediately all over the plugs and spoons, with a bass here and there mixed in.
Got a call from my buddy in a super-fast center console that he was in a sick bite on the beach, so off we went. As we approached 30' depths fish were blowing up so we broke out the poppers and storm shads and had wild fishing for almost an hour with the occasional bass and loads of bluefish.
Once that died, we went back up on the troll and finished off the limit with a few more bass. Most of the bass were 12-15#, biggest went ~25# taken by Rob. Great day, lots of clean releases on fish and the guys kept their limit for the grill tonight. The best part was hearing Allen complain all day that he wasn't on the boat. Priceless! hahaaa

(PS with the bass in town now - we are now sailing DAILY!)
