Down Deep - Striper report 5-2-14

[Down Deep Sportfishing]

Not knowing what to expect, except chocolate milk, trees and the occasional tire, made the trip today to see what we could find. On board, John, Jerry and then there was Barry. John's first Striper trip, showed the other two sharpies how to put the first fish in the boat. After a quick pic, the short went back to grow up. John's next fish wasn't too long after, this one remained on board for dinner. John was pumped, so were we all. Then Jerry wasn't to be left out, he put a nice one in the box too. This leaves Barry in between the two other hot hands and Barry fished hard, and harder and wouldn't surrender to the action to his left and right :). So towards the end of the day, Barry finally decided to put the rod in the holder and sit and chat with me after I told him earlier in the day, "put it down, and come sit down and BS". Less than a minute later, :D tap, tap, Barry pops up and lands a beauty. We had a real nice flurry going with some nice fish taking a ride home with us. It was a real pleasure to meet some real nice guys, true gentleman and hope to fish with you all again. So after the half foot of rain, I think we all had a good day.

Thanks for the extra effort skip. I was happy just being ballast for the first few hours strategically positioned in the stern. Just waiting for my turn. In the end you are a great crew and if you all work together and go with the flow it all works out in the end. Tight Lines and keep smiling :D
