Well read my thread title. Is it true? The AH Party Boat reports and pics look like they are fishing right at the tip of the Hook....

Gonna be a parking lot after this post.Sometimes the little clues should be left for those who know what to look for.

I do agree with you. But, most people here know what and where Flynn's Knoll is...... Only a few do not.

PM trip on the Tiger. Most of the trip, very, very slow. I caught the 1st keeper, barely. Did not get another hit. Perhaps 40% of the fares caught a keeper, no one more than one. Only 2 shorts, and early in the trip. Yes, it was Flynn's Knoll, not far N of the Sandy Hook Ch. Boat traffic was a non- issue, as the few private boats stayed anchored, and were scattered. We made 2 moves, not far, during the trip. All outgoing tide, fairly strong current. Other reports indicated that the early part of AM incoming tide was much better. The 3:30PM boats from AH eventually got that tide. Anyone from those late trips want to comment, post??

Everyone moved out there because the water was cleaner...and it was red hot Friday am if you had fresh bunker. I has a short window to fish Friday and and the bite was ok...but only fished for about 3 hours. Returned today and although everyone said the bite was off I knew from Friday it would turn on as the tide ran out. Sure enough all the am guys left and the bite lit up from about 1:30 til 4:30. All quality fish in the 18-22 lbs range. Remember when the fishing gets tough you have to concentrate on the prime feeding times, in the spring the tail end of the outgoing. But I don't think this was the start of the Flynn;s knoll traditional run, just weather related.

Beautiful days last Sunday and today. Last Sunday, fished mostly sandworms. A few light hits that may have been bunker running into the line. Today, fished lures as did most of the other fishermen at my location. Tried metal, a shad, and SP minnows. A 14" bass on a 1-1/2-oz Gator spoon at about 4 PM, 2 hours before high tide. Heard of a few similar-sized bass caught up and down the beach. Then about 6:30 PM, 1/2-hour into the outgoing, I got a hard hit -- 29" bass also on the Gator spoon. Many of the fishermen were looking for the start of the Spring Bluefish run -- not yet, but any day now.
