This steady blast of NE wind is sure to take its toll on the new sand project. The sand at Monmouth Beach was already carved out back in the fall. There was a 4ft. lip that I had to negotiate in order to get down to the surf. Is there a certain percentage of sand that is expected to be lost in a normal season? I'm just curious about when the Corps will have to do it again. Any thoughts? Has anyone been to the beaches to see how they are doing?

I fished Mom beach and that drop was down right dangerous aside from falling off it in the dark if your not on your toes and a good wave hits it that back wash will suck your feet right out from under you...Im sure after this blow there are gonna be some drop offs so be careful out there...From what i understand this project has 36 years left to it they will be doing it every couple years...It was a 50 something year project that is already almost half way thru...Total waste of money and its a complete joke if they think that sand will stay there..Expect the Hook to be closed for dredging again cause that were all this washed out sand ends up:mad::mad:
