Bunkers? Bluefish?

Anybody seeing many bunkers in Raritan Bay? And has anyone had any encounters with bluefish yet?

I snaged a bunker off union beach as i was packing it in for the night. I decided to make one more cast after that and landed a 16lbr that was released to spawn.

A lot of bunker were close to shore last night in the keyport area. No telling where they'll be after this wind though. Was talking to another fisherman and he had said he buddy had steady bluefish in the raritan last week. That's the first I've heard about demon eyes in the bay this year.

I was out 3 times last week and didn't see any bunkers in atlantic highlands. I hear guys back in keyport have been netting some. Have not seen any yellow eyes either.

havent heard of any blues yet by anyone, but there is bunker on the NY side and the guys who got the bigger fish all got bait and livelined/chunked em. We fished kinda in between by the shoals w most of the fleet and picked off lots of shorts clamming, couple keepers too all on clams anchored up

Bunkers been thick were ive been fishing in RB...Last year my first blue was on April 26th since everything is a bit late this year id expect them in the next 2 weeks or soo...They can stay away for as long as they like as far as im concerned..The bass bite has been good the past week or so with some nice fish around...Not ready to start getting my tackle detroyed lol:D
