After having two trips cancelled, one was some boat issues and the other was WIND, a last minute trip opened up for Grouper. Left the in-laws at the crack of dawn to drive to Venice Fl, to fish with Fish Galore. Left the dock at 6:45 and 15 minutes later we were catching pin fish for the live-well. Filled up the live well and 30 minutes later we made another stop. It was amazing to see this many Amberjacks swimming around the boat. We limited out on them in minutes and off to the Grouper grounds.
Fished 125 feet of water and had our limit by 1 PM. One saving grace was that I brought my own reel and bucktails. Switched over to catch some snappers (Lain, yellow-tail,grunts, porgys etc..) Headed back to the dock in some snotty seas but he still ran the boat at 30 knots (body was hurting today).
Put the boat on the trailer and we followed him home where he hung the fish and began to fillet. Now that the vacation is over, time to catch some bass when I come back.
