McD's started the fillet-o-fish sandwich years back with cod. Soon after, they switched to Hoki, from new Zealand. In 2007, after years of pounding the Hoki and declining stocks, they switched to Alaskan pollock. Let's hope the big corporation and the comms don't kill that species off like they did with the others. As far as using haddock, that would never happen. They use the cheapest fish available. My best guess is next they'll be putting the toilet fish(tilapia) on the buns, to supplement the other s**t they sell.
