4/19 - The Sea Soda isn't in the water yet so I've been working deck on another local charter boat. After the boats stayed dockside all of last week with the wind, We ran to the mid-range wrecks for cod again. With only four anglers, we hit different pieces from 20 to 35 miles out to put together another solid catch. Some wrecks were so-so, others were hot! Cod were caught on bait and jigs. The best jigging came on gold diamond jigs with pink teasers - many cod were loaded with small lobsters and crustaceans - maybe the pink teasers matched the hatch. Pollock to 20 pounds were jigged on one wreck. By day's end, the guys boated about 45 keeper cods to 35 pounds, 5 pollock to 20 pounds, and some ling, with plenty more short cod that went back to grow.
