My biggest concern with ideas such as this is the ability of the ocean waters being able to cleanse itself properly. Barriers will cause significant barriers for the ocean be able to push in clean waters and remove stained dirty waters from storms. I also believe in will make deposits of sand build up between the islands and the beach lowering the depths of time. I'm dead set against it

They are just fishing for solutions this is a long way off. Wonder what it would do to the fishing? vast possibilities probably never cancel a inshore trip again unless some real bad wind moved through lol.

I have to agree with Steve.. I DO understand wanting to live on the bay, tidal river, lagoon leading into the bay, tidal creek, or right on the ocean beaches.. However, lets face facts, that a very risky lifestyle.
It was my dream, and I was looking at small waterfront /lagoon bungalows right until Sandy hit, and then did a 180....

The Native Americans didn't do it, they understood nature.. White Europeans came over, and said WOW, rivers, bays and the ocean!.. Lets live RIGHT NEAR them...

Sandy was inevitable, we dodged a bullet for decades, but time was on nature's side... Remember what God's Word says about building homes on the sand..

Islands 10-12 miles off the coast? Are you kidding me? Look at what happened to our Harbor from the Sea's that rolled in during Sandy and many other storms over the years.
Sandy Hook, a natural barrier, only 1 1/2 miles from the Harbor meant nothing, yes it stopped the full force of the ocean but on the bay side, it did nothing......high tide didn't destroy the Harbor, the waves did!!
