My name is Troy Pusateri, and I am a former Navy SEAL, involved in OPERATION RESTORED WARRIOR. Operation Restored Warrior is a program that helps our military warriors who suffer with PTSD upon returning home after their deployments. The cost of sustaining the freedoms we so cherish as a people and a nation are increasingly carried upon the shoulders of the men and women of our Armed Forces.Their immense personal cost is only just now being recognized in our nation through catchwords like PTSD (Post Traumatic Stress Disorder), Combat Related Stress (CRS), as well as physically wounded warriors, suicide, and other classifications. Their battles are real, the life wounds often deep, and with an average of 22 suicides a week from these heroes, never has a clear path to restoration been more needed yet found so scarce.

Operation Restored Warrior is open to all faiths and brings together mission, healing, and ministry to places and memories within the warrior's heart that need the hope and healing through our experiential, multiple day, wilderness setting counterattacks.

We are raising awareness and money to place these warriors through the 5 day program called the Drop Zone and for over 5 years has proven to help service members from all branches of our military. From intelligence analysts to Navy SEALS and Army Delta, and from Chaplains to Surgeons and everyone in between; healing knows no boundaries. Participants have experienced the freedom, restoration, and healing their hearts and lives have longed for and so desperately needed. We don't renovate, we restore the warrior to what was intended.

Being a newer organization, we have recently begun to raise awareness and seek charity to put as many of these Warriors through the restoration program. It costs approximately $2000 to put one Warrior through the program. To raise funds, and place as many of these fine folks through the program as possible, this year we are hosting the Warriors for Warriors Shark Tournament.

Warriors for Warriors Charity Shark Tournament, Pt Pleasant, NJ, is a fund raising vehicle where myself, and two other former Navy SEALs are raising money for charity to help other combat warrior veterans in need of crucial help. Each year, the tournament will select a charity to support with the proceeds of the event going to the designated charity we choose to support that year. The charities supported will be ones focused on helping combat veterans.

I ask that you take a minute to look over the below websites, and simply spread awareness. We are seeking sponsors, and with a larger following, and more awareness we can attract more and larger sponsors to ensure success, for future tournaments, and ultimately raise more money to support our Vets. So please, like and share us on Facebook here:

On behalf of myself, my team mates, and the fine men and women of our Armed Forces, we thank you deeply for your help and support. If you have any questions, or want to get involved, or offer advice, please feel free to PM me here.

Thanks for supporting our Vets and I plan on fishing this tournament for sure. The thing I really like about this group is no one in the organization gets paid. They are all volunteers so 100% of the money goes to help our vets...

We have a banner on our home page www.njfishing.com to support them so I hope you all will consider getting behind this.

Awesome event for GREAT better cause here guys. Even if you don't have a boat, you can get a charter boat!

I'm honored to donate a fluke charter to such a thoughtful event. It's going to be a great turnout! Have fun, catch sharks, raise money and party. What else could you want?

Hey everyone, the Tournament is going to be very unique and special, raising money for a great cause. At the Captain's meeting, we will be selling tickets for a very cool drawing. The winners (we are thinking about having two winners) will win the honor of having a former US Navy SEAL fish with their crew for the tournament. Troy, who initiated this thread is one of the SEALs and he also happens to be a heck of an offshore fisherman. Additionally the winners will get a custom engraved commemorative Avet fishing reel.

You guys know a big part of fishing is telling stories. Some true, and some not so true....LOL. How amazing would it be to have a commemorative Avet reel engraved with the SEAL Trident and Warriors for Warriors logo and have the experience of fishing with a Navy SEAL that you will remember and talk about for the rest of your life!!

Additionally, the after party fund raiser dinner at River Rock on the Manasquan River in Brick on Saturday June 14th will include a Chinese auction with a lot of really cool things to win, including International Fishing trips, local inshore and offshore fishing trips, gear, restaurant gift cards, etc. Captain Paul Hebert from Wicked Tuna will be fishing the tournament and will be at the after party fund raiser dinner. We are working with Paul to see if he can donate a Giant Bluefin Tuna trip on his boat in Glouster.

We will even have items that women will find appealing. Got to keep the wives and girlfriends involved too. Tickets for the fund raiser dinner will be $30 and food along with discounted drinks will be provided. We will have a chainsaw carver at the event carving a special item live to be auctioned. We will have other items personalize by the SEALs to auction, etc. Its going to be a huge night, capping off a great tournament all in support of helping our warrior veterans.

Please spread the word and encourage people to Like us on Facebook. We have 908 likes as of this morning.

This is a great cause and I am proud to be a small part of it. Here are a few rods I built and donated to help with fundraising. These are some serious offshore killing machines featuring Winthrop Tool Express roller guides, Aftco seat and gimbal, and Calstar Boomer JR blanks. I wrapped these in colors that represent all four branches of our military to honor all our veterans and servicemen and women.

We were fortunate this weekend to be entered in this tourney. Our luck began when we won the pre tourney raffle for a "Seal and a reel." We won an awesome engraved 30w green avet and had the honor of having a Navy Seal join us fishing the Tournament. Our guest landed his first mako, a 100lb er we released hoping to find the right one. We found it , and he assisted in tail roping the 243.5 winner. Maybe his presence helped us find him ???? Winning was great but we would have had an awesome time if we didn't. If you get a chance to fish this or the BTB mako rodeo next year please try, they r great causes.
