We are starting up the full Hook, Line and Sinker section in the Asbury Park Press in a month.

If anyone has any stories they'd like to see written let us know. This goes for the whole season. Drop us a line. Our emails are below.

Could be anything, a profile of local captain or angler, a clam bake, new or tried and true fishing tackle, fishing techniques, history, fishery management, a fishing spot that's off the beaten path.

If it works out we'll come out and take pictures, maybe do video.

If anyone wants to submit catch photos for the paper for a keepsake email John Oswald or myself. joswald@app.com or dradel@app.com. It's that's simple.

JPG format. Photo caption needs to include Names, Hometowns, Fish and Weight. Boat and Capt. if it applies.

I know everyone on here is a pretty avid fishermen so I hope to hear from you.

Dan

Thanks for flounder info Dan. One of my best rods is one that you built.

I think it would be fun to find a random family on the beach near an inlet one day, who is visiting the Jersey Shore for the first time, and take the family out fishing on a party boat the next day. Sponsor their fares and film and photograph their experience. All the boats have their regulars who support most of the business, but with the "Jersey Shore Open for Business", there is a huge untapped resource for fares and also new potential fishermen! We know the industry is hurting and the summer tourist fares could really help. Might be fun to set up some large screen TV's on the boardwalk to show the family's experience to people who have never been on a party boat before!

Just trying to think outside the box instead of just reports or specials on individuals, but what would "outsiders" want to see to keep our sport and pastime alive!:D

I'm glad to hear that Mark. I'll be starting up the rods again soon. Took me awhile to get a new workshop. When I do I'll get an add here and let people know.

Chris I like that idea a lot. I think that could work if they were completely random and had no intention of fishing.

Good stories when an Old guy gives the pole to a young child to enjoy the first experiece and has HIM hooked. Better than on the streets. Father and son / daughter help increase the sport. Want some ideas give me a pm.

Thanks Dan! Trying to be creative since I've been in the photography field for 20 years now and also our yearbook advisor for the high school I work at. Always trying to figure out what an outside audience would be interested in rather than just the "in-the-knows" :)
