Sailing Offshore every Saturday at 1AM in March.
2-22-14
The big Jamaica fished the offshore wrecks Saturday. We found cod, Pollock and a few ling almost everywhere we fished but never had a hot bite. Numerous times we had good size schools of pollock swim under the boat but only one or two would bite each time.
There is a good deal of bait around the wrecks and the water temperature is still dropping slightly so fishing should improve. The water temperature offshore ranged from 44 to 46.5 degrees.
Some fish were caught on a jig and tube combo but most were caught on bait.
The pool winners were:
Dan Signal from Trenton NJ with a 14LB cod. Dan caught 2 cod and 2 pollock.
2ND place was:
Eddie Cruz from Patterson NJ with a 12LB cod.
Tom Micholas caught 4 cod and 4 ling.
The big Jamaica is scheduled to sail offshore every Saturday at 1AM.
We will also sail Sunday at 3AM to the mid-range wrecks for cod, Pollock, and ling.
There is plenty of space available for that trip.
