First off, I am NOT for government regulations for the most part.. however, when COMMON SENSE prevails,
[which is RARE when any government is involved], I will applaud the effort . In this case, the Chinese have begun to realize the extreme evil that was being perpetrated on shark populations worldwide because of their insane lust for shark fin soup, which from everything I have read is basically tasteless, and offers NO nutritional value..
An interesting read..

I hope we can get some COMMON SENSE here in the states regarding the mass slaughter by huge commercial conglomerates of our fish stocks, leaving next to nothing for recreationals...

Good article, never understood how somebody could hack off a sharks fins and release it to die at sea. Finally, a wise decision by a government entity.

It's really messed up. It's all about $$$. I know when I kill a fish it gets eaten and if I have too much it is given away for free to family, friends or neighbors. I'm sure this is a pretty common practice among rec. guys. On the other hand Commercial guys sell everything they bring in. Which generates tax dollars: federal income, state income and sales tax. If anything doesn't seem right in the world follow the MONEY.

After watching that video I now have a greater respect for Gordian Ramsey and applaud his efforts in stopping the fining of sharks
