A public meeting has been scheduled at 101 hooper ave Toms River nj at 7:00 pm mon. jan. 13 tomorrow night to get public feed back about proposed changes in the sea bass and fluke regulations , and those changes are NO G.D. GOOD !.
It is as much your responsibility to show up and show outrage as it is your right to fish and keep a reasonable number of these fish.
These regulations are NOT designed to protect and increase the numbers of these fish as much as they are to keep you from fishing for them . These fish are valuable both in market sales and perhaps to sell back to you in the form of making you pay to fish for them.
Also some organizations are tiring to stop you from fishing , stop you from partaking in an act that dates back to the bible .
They have films and publications warning the unknowing public about those who fish , this type of propaganda is not new I once watched such a film it dated back to the 1930s I didn't understand much of it however I don't understand German . Show up and fight ! Thanks

Any North Jersey guys going?

I would be interested in carpooling (my vehicle or yours). Meet in West Orange/Millburn/Cheesequake Park and Ride.

PM me if interested.

Said I would never go to one of these meetings again,BUT I FEEL I HAVE TOO--say what is on your mind---they are trying to take our right to fish away.. Hope to see a big crowd there---Too big for them to even hold a meeting!!

Wow 94 days if the regs are the same as last year. Which is 44 days shorter than last year somehow. I think I would have to go with the 18in minimum and 120 days. There is no way I would want to give up the 5 fish bag limit. Is there really 184 days that you could put together a decent fluke catch?

I was at the meeting as well. Not enough guys were there.
The whole way they calculate demand/effort is crazy.
If you are ever surveyed either in person or over the phone. Please tell them how infrequently you fish and how little you catch.
its a game of numbers. the less effort they can count, the better are chances for a longer season and higher bag limits.
