I was wondering if anyone had any experience in fishing in the Key Largo area in early February? I did some searching on the internet and was not able to find a whole lot.
I would like to fish the ocean side for whatever might be biting or is in season at that time. Would anyone happen to have any recommendations of what to fish for at that time of year and a good charter captain?
Much appreciated.

The key to fishing anywhere is the captain. Take the recommendation of other guys and fish for what the captain tells you to target. They know what's biting best each time of year. They want you to catch fish. I have fished Marathon and Grassy key but only for Tarpon. It's a shame it's not that time of year. That's the greatest fishing I have ever had the pleasure of fishing for. May June best months for that

Was supposed to be down there that same time, now im heading down mid may. well be staying just south of key largo but the girl and I will have a car so we can go anywhere. looking at a 4-6hr trip for whatever is biting best, except tarpon. also if anyone knows a captain that will do split snorkeling/fishing charters I might opt for that. that surprise would get me major brownie points and possibly the chance to go out again on a split charter or something:D
again any help would be much appreciated!
