Edward John Broderick
June 1,1974 – December 14, 2013
Age -39
Ed started his professional career in the fishing industry at the age of 14 after being designated the “custom fly tyer” for the Orvis Company’s NYC store. He was a graduate of Westfield, HS and attended Monmouth University prior to gaining his Captain’s license and fishing full time. He was an expert fly caster and all around fishing expert. In recent years he worked as part the J. T.White Clam Plant fleet in Highlands, NJ. He was reporting missing December 14, 2013 while en route to the clam plant.
Edward is survived by his 7 year old daughter Makena Grace Broderick and wife Kelly Broderick, his brother Derek Broderick and parents, Mary Joan and Edward Broderick
A memorial service will be held Saturday, January 11, at Posten’s Fuberal Home, 59 East Lincoln Avenue, Atlantic Highlands, NJ. Friends are invited to arrive at 4:00 pm, the service will begin 4:30 pm. In lieu of Flowers a Trust Fund has been started for Makena Broderick. Donations can be made to Makena Broderick, 3 Clay Court, Cape May, NJ 08204
