When you fished on any boat this year private or charter? - How many limits do you reach compared to the amount of fishing trips you took? Per angler, boat, what ever type of fish you target?

We usually fish with 3 or 4 on our boat.
Stripers - Probably would have limited the boat 10 times or so but only kept a total of 2 or 3 fish for the table the whole year.
Fluke - I can only remember 1 or maybe 2 boat limits
Blackfish - 1 or 2 boat limits when the season was still at 1 fish. No limits later in the season when the limits went up.
Looking back on this maybe I should take up knitting :(

Stripers 5 for 9
Fluke 2 for 7
Sea Bass 1 for 3
Blues 1 for 3
All in all a decent year. Give or take a third of the trips were good, a third ok and a third were poor.

I have no idea how many times i fished, but i know i did limit a lot with fluke, fished i think 12blackfish trips and limited on 8 of them and i think two of those where at 1 fish, 4 on 4fish and 2 on 6 fish., tuna (who the hell limits on tuna anymore), seabass (who the hell bothers with them anymore lol but i did have a limit the one trip i did)
Stripers? what are they? fished for them twice, boat limits on both trips, i did not get out for them much this year..

Every trip I took fluking...
If there was a limit on skates, birdies,or doggies I would have gotten that, fluke-one trip, tog- put on a number of clinics then it went downhill, bass- didn't count, only kept four for the smoker and fish cakes- flounder- well there more of them in the river than mussels almost- no weakies this year- twice for sea bass this spring. Had them so thick eeling one time we switched over to fish for c bass.

Juat sold my 20 foot Grady White boat after many years of frustration.
I get sea sick, so I almost always fish in the bay in calm water.
Back in the early 1980's before seasons, size and bag limits, we would be able to bring home about 30 Fluke per trip in the 13-18 inch range. But then limits were establihed and kept being tightened.
Now days, I usually catch a few nice fat Fluke in the 14-17 inch size...Perfect for eating, but not keepers according to NJ size limits.
In fact, in the past 5 years, I have never caught a limit on my boat, and have probably caught only 3 or 4 legal sized fish in the past 5 years with 2 of us fishing in the bay.

Seems like everyone did well with stripers. Are they in trouble or not?Ocean fluking was ok but the bay sucked!!!This upcoming season could be different.I think this will be the year of the weakfish but with a limit of one fish people will loose interest.
stripers 4/7
sea bass 3/3 on 3 diff 6 packs, limits both me & my wife, still some in the freezer
tog 0/5
fluke 0/2
cod 0/1
bluefish 0/7 but caught plenty
albies 0/2013 after incredible 2012
other than 2 epic striper trips and 3 great sea bass trips, 2013 was the worst year for us since we sold our boat in 2006, with 2011-12 being our best years.
number of trips down 1/3 from 2012. we also had incredibly bad luck with weather, having have 11 trips cancelled, including 5 with one capt in Cape May we never got out with at all last year, and who is the only guy we have ever both limited with fluke.
