I have to say the Gambler Captain and crew are great, no matter how I do I all-ways have a good time and am happy with the crew. The fishing was OK, not great. We would anchor on a spot have immediate success then it would slow down, you had to work for your catch not drop and reel by any means. The conditions were good, icy cold at the start but the sun came out and it warmed up, little wind, a calm sea, great day to be on the water. As expected the Sea Bass were 3-5 Lbs with some large Porgy, the pool was won by a Pollock, nice fish maybe 35Lbs? When a spot quieted down Capt Bob adjusted or moved to a different spot, I appreciate his efforts in giving the anglers plenty of opportunity to catch. It was getting close to quitting time and I heard one whistle, expecting three, and we would preposition, then another single whistle, expecting three, and we sailed to a new spot, Thank you Capt Bob these additional spots helped me round out my catch, which was not spectacular but I am happy with what I got. As all-ways Tommy's home made chicken soup and cheese burgers hit the spot and Todd made sure all was going well, untangling my lines and unhooking pout and dogs. The winds and waves picked up at days end, the sail back was tough heading against the wind and waves. I was in a bunk downstairs feeling each wave as it hit the bow. Overall OK fishing, a great day to be on the water and a good crowd.

Thanks for posting the report.
Yes, the fishing was not as good as the previous trips, had to work at it. But I think most of the guys had a fair catch. Thanks for joining us.
I had the pool pollock it was 26lbs on my digital scale. Nice fish fought like pollock do...hard had him on on first wreck right away. First fish I caught for the day.
Fishing was ok as stated before captain and crew did what they could but fish were just not there. By looking at commercial landings on another post I can sort of understand why.
Great times had by all until ride in when a few had a rough ending.
I made it safe to new years eve party a little late but made it and I was last one to go to sleep.
Three guy total 33 seabass all jumbos 8 porgies and 2 pollock and more doggies than I could stand. I performed surgery multiple times. Lol

I was in the stern and had similar results. Fast and furious on each drop for only minutes and then the bite died and Capt had to reposition us or move all together. I think I spent more time in the air then on my back on the ride home lol. Ran late for a new years party, but totally worth it!

Was probably around low hook on this one, 6 keeper sea bass all large, 2 ling, 1 large porgy and 2 thowback small keeper porgies. Was not on lively ground most of the day. It was snaggy but not as lively as some areas. That being said Ryan R next to me scraped out 10 sea bass, 3 porgies and a 19 1/2" pollack so there were some fish to be had.

I was on the other side of you and had 10 Sea bass and one Porgy . Go figure. This was the better of my two trips for Sea Bass but I had a bunch more Big Porgies on the first trip.

Law of averages dictates that you can't always be high hook. Better to get only 6 sea bass on a mediocre trip than to get only 6 on a real slammer.
