Gonna look to add a new ff/GPS combo to the boat this year but want some fist hand recommendation! I have a raymarine on the boat now that was there when I got boat it works ok never and major problems but I want something with larger scan area and better with identifying structure! Who's got any input

I've owned all three brands. Something to be said for all three, but with Lowrance you can add structure scan which is sick! Garmin is definitely the most user friendly.

When I got my first new boat I did a lot of research and went with lowrance. Years later I too have a raymarine in my new to me new boat. I wouldn't look back with going to lowrance with all the bells and whistles they have now, in my experience much more user friendly then, now it's just ... Stupid sick!!
not knocking raymarine its just a lot more money in most cases for one of them new bad boys!!
remember the transducers are the key and done before the boat is back in the water is clutch.
happy shopping!!

I had a raymarine, and a few years ago I upgraded to Garmin 546/s. I really like the 546, very easy to use, and the garmin' homeport software is great. You can add waypoints and fishing spots, or plot out trips on your pc, save to card and load into unit.
Screen is clear and FF seems to work fine.

I like the Raymarine. Here is a review I did when we purchased ours http://www.njfishing.com/forums/showthread.php?t=48590&highlight=Raymarine
