Very interesting trip with a great bunch on guys!! Was a bit windy but nice. Stopped at the first spot had some life boated some fish and had a few injuries. Headed back in to drop off the injured. Thank you Kenny and Jimmy for doing the right thing for all involved. Headed back out to continue fishing. Mike had the hot hand today. He had all the guys fishing next to him talking to themselves. Well do Mike!!! We picked some nice fish all day!! The swells were pretty tall after noon time. As Always Kenny and Chris did a great job!! Can't say enough good things about the entire Mimi operation. Congrats to Billy on winning the pool. Special thanks to Jimmy for putting everything together and letting me come a long.

One guy did a better job of cutting his finger than snipping the claw off a whitelegger. Another angler managed to embed a hook deep into his finger. We returned to the dock so that the hook could be removed by a medical professional. No drama, just an hour break from toggin. Good call by Captain K.

Did they get patched up and head back out to fish?

Fun day with great peeps! Another tough day for me. Three keepers a dozen shorts. Met some new faces from the board. Thanks to jimmy and June for a great sausage sandwich for lunch. That June can cook!
Joey, thanks for picking up the reel!
Will be back out on the mimi for an open boat Friday and another charter with them on Saturday. Can you say back to back:eek:
Merry Xmas to all

Joey had three with a contender mixed in. He just missed the pool. I had three that totaled 45 inches:eek: I went thru at least ten rigs and was talking to myself by ten o'clock. I used to be a good tog fisherman, but then Started hanging with the flying z's. :D

While cutting the first crab of the day in the bow I managed to cut the middle finger on my left hand. Mate Chris did a great job of first aid and got me patched up.Couldn't help me get a keeper today but still had a good time trying ! Thanks to Kenny ,Chris, and Jimmy,June and all for making this another nice day on the ocean. Merry Christmas :D

I hear ya Steve ! I won't make any excuses I just suck this year. Seems like every trip so far has been a struggle. I'll be there next week to give it another shot !
Steve
Surprised to hear that you are having a tougher year this year. With the Australian and the heavier Richie Tropics rod, you were on your game last year. Thought you would be dialed into the bite on these rods as once you get use to the bite on them you seem to swing less on the little pecks and are able to wait for the right bite. Stick with it my fellow blackfishing brother as your day is coming were everything will come together.

Have had a few trips this year were we on a good bite and you want to get back in the water so quickly that I almost did the same thing a couple of times. I actually remember telling my self slow down before you cut your finger. Glad to hear you are alright

That seems to be the type of bite we have been having this year. Scratchy bite were lot of days they lightly bite and do not come back. HAve to maximize every opportunity to put catch together. On days like this I have downsized everything (hooks, leader, crabs) in order to catch when other are not. Do not like to fish this way as I normally like to target bigger fish but it has helped fill up the coolers.

Johnnie tougher it out and returned out to fish!!! He is a mans man!!! I can only hope if something like that happened to me I would brave it out as well as he did. I hope you went to Dr and had them take good care of you keep an eye on infection. Frank did not return out with us he was looking a bit pale and was getting light headed. I hope everything went well at the Dr for him as well. Tough Fishin with the big swell but you know what I say. A day of fishing good or bad still beats working!!
