Offshore Sea Bass - Porgies - Cod
We made our first offshore trip Saturday and fishing was pretty good. We had a strong current offshore but caught Sea Bass, Jumbo Porgies and a few cod & Ling.
High hook was Cai Chen from Harrison NJ with a limit of Sea Bass and a limit of Porgies. He also had one of the pool fish, an 8LB Cod.
Catches varied with the skill of the fisherman but everyone caught jumbo porgies and some sea Bass. Others had similar catches with a few more or a few less.
Paul Kacsmar from Wall NJ caught his limit of jumbo porgies, 15 Sea Bass, a cod and ling.
Fishing will continue to improve as the water temperature drops.
The Jamaica will sail to the offshore wrecks leaving
11PM Saturday Nov. 30 Fishing Sunday.
We are also scheduled to fish the offshore wrecks
every Wednesday, Friday, Saturday, and Sunday in December
including a few extra trips between Christmas and New Years Day.
The trips depart 11PM the night before.
The Sea Bass Season will be closed starting January 1, 2014. This is the only chance to catch Giant Sea Bass this winter.
