It is with a very heavy heart that I tell you that Marilyn Reingold, aka, "MsGulp" passed away peacefully at home early this morning. As you all know, she was an avid fisherman and loved nothing more than to be at sea with all of her friends and family fishing. We have so many wonderful memories to share about her and she touched us all in so many ways. She will be forever missed and remembered dearly and we will always love her. She was like a Mother to me and we were always there for eachother no matter what. May you rest in peace Mother Marilyn. We love you forever.
Thank you to all who sent prayers to her over the past few months. She read them all and was truly touched by the outpouring of love and support from each and everyone of you.
Regarding funeral arrangements, the family has asked to keep it private. If you would like to make a donation in her name, please feel free to send it to Saint Judes Children's Research Hospital here. (https://shop.stjude.org/GiftCatalog/donation.do?cID=13805&pID=24591)

I never met the woman, but all of the good wishes that came from this board are a testament to what a great person she must have been.

With a heavy Heart I say goodbye to a great person who I called MOM, God Bless, Rest in Peace! Marilyn, may you find fair tides, favorable winds, and long drifts filled with keepers! My sympathies to the family in this difficult time.
I'm lost for words. She was a great caring person with a huge heart. Marilyn, fished harder than any other man on this site. She was a trooper on Offshore Cod trips on the Gambler. I'll miss making you cod rigs! My prayers go out to the family. Rest easy my friend. Until we meet again.

Wow sad news RIP Marilyn you were one great fisherlady.
It is with heavy heart that I read this message of Marilyns passing. I feel fortunate that I was able to speak to her on the day she was coming home from the hospital and catch up. I asked her to pick a day for me to treat her, Debra lee and Sandi out to dinner to try to cheer her up during this difficult time but did not hear back from her after reaching out to her the past few weeks. I guess she was not feeling up to it. Will never understand why God takes away the good ones to soon. My dearest Marilyn aka Ms. Gulp you will greatly be missed. I am hear for the family if you need to reach out for some help with anything.

Rest in peace Marilyn! Your heart of gold will be truly missed throughout the fishing community.
It saddens me to hear Marilyn has passed away. First time I met her she fluke fished next to me on a party boat and slammed them. One of the most serious fisherperson I have ever met.
She came aboard with three custom rods and high price reels worth hundreds each. I inquired about her equipment, being she was a lady. Most rent their rods. She chuckled and told me they were a small part of what she owned. During the trip she talked about being brought up by fishermen her whole life. Her dad being part owner of the Miss Belmar with Captain Al Shinn. How attached she was to the Shinn family for many years.
Over the years I have owned my own boat. I saw her on many Atlantic Highlands party boats fluke fishing. Especially on the Angler. Always up in the bow. Plugging away like a true professional. I always pulled along side and gave a hello hollar. She would wave. And I would ask, "Learn how to fish yet? Her response was always, "I'll kick your ass." Sometimes the truth hurts. LOL
To all Marilyn's relatives, friends, fellow fishermen, boat captains, the Shinn family, N.J. Fisherman.com members: We lost a true icon. In her memory take a child fishing. Even little girls can grow up and become a fishing legend.

RIP Marilyn...
The first time I met her, she asked me a few questions about my family... didn't seem like much at the time... Every time after, she asked how they were doing... each and every one of them. She took it all in. She genuinely cared. Only asked for help tying a few rigs and removing a few fish in return.. didn't want her nails to get messed up.
You made an impact girl. Thanks.

So saddened by this news... She was one of a kind, full of life, always up for anything and always gave more than she got. Rest in peace "Honey"
I sure am going to miss all those "very important" calls.... "Hi honey, this is Mars call me as soon as you get this".......
I'd call her back thinking the sky had fallen and she'd say "How's your family Honey, how are you, what's going on ?" The occational care and feeding calls you'd get from some you know cared about you.
Got to admit I owe more than a few people those calls... I also have more than a few people in my cell phone contact list that have passed that I wished I made more of those calls to.... Just can't seem to bring myself to deleted them from my phone either.... Seeing them there is a constant reminder of them, their love and how short life is....
Sleep well girlfriend and rest up from your long journey. May you now be resting in Gods loving arms free of cancer, at the rail, catching fish and driving everyone crazy.
I will miss you terribly... Our loss but Gods gain.

Very sad news.
I met Marilyn on a Montauk run with Shrimpman a couple yrs ago.
She brought enough food to feed an army and was so generous.
Was ready at the rail to catch some cod with her electric reel in hand.
She truly was an one of a kind.
RIP Ms Gulp.
We all know she loved her fluking.

So sad. Marilyn was a wonderful caring person who will be missed. I will never forget when she found out I was going cod fishing in Montauk one weekend, she called me and asked if she could join us. We had a great ride out, great fishing, and a great ride back. I will miss this great person. She will not be forgotten.
PS. What are the chances god finds her to high maintenance and sends her back to us. She will be missed

I met marlyn on my first cod trip ever on the gambler. She was defenetly a character with her electric reel and the fact that she wouldnt hold the fish for a picture because she just had her nails done, but she had me smiling the whole trip and she truly loved fishing and the people that fished with her. She will truly be missed.

Sorry to hear the sad news. I've bumped into Marilyn numerous times over the past 25 years or more on many different boats. Sure we helped her unhooking fish, untangling and making rigs. Some would jokingly call it high maintenance. I called it friendship.
She was genuine, sincere and had a heart of gold. You touched the hearts of many and you will be missed Marilyn.

Marilyn fished through chemo, radiation, injuries, and setbacks that would daunt most anyone and keep them bed ridden at home. Her passion was unrivaled, and she certainly had a heart of gold. I was lucky enough to have known her and fished alongside her on the Misty for 3 seasons. RIP Ms. Gulp.

Sorry to hear about this. I met her on the 2011 RFA trip. I fished right next to her all day and was amused by her antics. She was a hell of an angler. I was especially touched by her obvious love for Debralee and Sandi.
May she rest in peace.

Fisherman's Prayer
I pray that I may live to fish
Until my dying day.
And when it comes to my last cast,
I then most humbly pray:
When in the Lord's great landing net
And peacefully asleep
That in His mercy I be judged
Big enough to keep.
Rest now Marilyn, Fished a few trips with her, made the first Bus trip to D C on the same bus, always a smile, always a few laughs. She will be missed! Condolences to the Family.
