We had a beautiful nite, but that was part of the problem. We got out at pretty much slack tide or very little ebb tide-loss of 1 hour fishing time,no drift. I read plenty of fish and stopped on em and drifted thru em and no bites, loss of hour no.2-no drift, we finally got a meager 1 knot current and produced a dozen or so keepers plus shorts and the spiny dogs were as thick as I have ever seen, it only took seconds for the eel to hit the bottom before the dogs were fighting over it. I have been nite striper fishing since 94-Teal days, and I have never seen this many dogs, they were swimming on the surface following the boat up for another drift. We had good fishing on Wed. nite because we were drifting over 2 knots but last nite was as bad conditions as you could get-no current and a slider of a drift-south wind and outgoing tide the boat covers 22 feet of ground instead of 65 feet, the lines run to the bow or stern. Hopefully we have better conditions tonite at 6;30. For info 908-930-2335.
