Our friend Marilyn (MsGulp) is spending time reminiscing of all the amazing people she has met over the years on all of her great adventures on the water. Reminiscing of the fishing stories to be remembered and the people surrounding her at those great moments.

She has asked Sandi and I to put a post up for her on NJfishing.com and asks us to mention to you.... PRAYER.

Prayer is a powerful word. I pray with gratitude to have such a dear friend that walked along side so many of us and brought so many of us together. I pray with gratitude that we have all shared moments together that will always be there to bring us a smile. I pray that everyone is fortunate enough to find a friend as loving and as true as ours.
May the seas always be calm, the sun always shinning and the fish always biting.

Sandi and I would like to share:
"Our friend took us to the ocean to teach us about the great mystical mysteries above and below. In doing so we learned lessons of patience, skill and true happiness. In waters as calm as they can be rough, as deep as they can be wide. Wether the tight line never finds its fish, the day always starts and ends with a friend and a smile. It is a true friend who takes you to the ocean to show you that this ocean and all of the greatness it holds, is the true definition of your friendship. Thank you dear friend Mama Marilyn"

My thoughts and prayers sent to Marilyn. She a good person and has more passion for fishing than most guys out there. Sitting in the A.H. parking lot at 4:00am to secure the pulpit to Fluke. Who does that? :D

Me and the family will be thinking of you.

Couldn't agree with you more, I remember a few years ago on the Gambler cod trips. She is a trooper, was there before any one. Fishes hard as any other man. We had some great times fishing together on the Gambler. My friend you're in my prayers. God bless you!

All the best, Jay

Just a note for those of you who are new to the site and might not know Marilyn/MS Gold.

I met Marliyn on the site about 10 years ago met her in person when she came to her first NJfishing.com Christmas party. A great lady who as others mentioned, was way more into fishing than most of us.

Over the years Marilyn attended many of the NJFishing.com trips and every Christmas she'd donate 2 baskets of cheer which would be raffled off to raise money for the charities and organizations which we support, most often those monies were donated to the RFA. She also called many of our sponsors to brow beat them into donating door prizes as well.

A great lady and friend to us all who is well deserved of our thoughts and prayers.

First time I met Marilyn

I started talking to her about fishing and asked what kind of swivels are those ? She said spro's and they are the best , I said might have to try them and she gave me about 20 of them and from there out I always tied her riggs and did whatever she wanted or asked withing fishing reasons - :D . Always fished her butt off and also called her the Gulp Lady -

Point is she didnt even know me and started giving me stuff - who deos that - NJFers thats who ( BTW that is how I met most people on this board at least the good ones - :D )

Thoughts and Prayers Ms. Marilyn

While working my college years on the Misty Morn I've come to meet some great people in the fishing community. Marilyn is right on the top of the list. Although she could bust balls (and High Maintenance :D) with the best of them old timers, she is a great lady. None of the mates ever thought twice about carrying her gear up to the truck or saving her stern corner. She knew how to take care of us guys and always had a bag of food and treats. Not only a great fisherwoman, but also a great Mom and Grandmother taking all her children fishing multiple times. I can speak for the entire crew on the MM that our Prayers will be sent out. Stay Strong

Steve

The days Marilyn and I split the starboard/port stern corners on board the Misty Morn (while scheming to keep the stern between us free from googans) will always be among my fondest fishing memories.

Marilyn is a one-off. There is no one like her in the world. My thoughts are with you.

Always enjoyed fishing with Marilyn. Could never figure out how she kept those nails so perfect while fishing.

Once I took some flack for a post on this forum, she immediately PMed with her cell # and said call me, I can get Gerry to delete it. Never called, but have loved her since.

Praying for you.

I want you all (who posted all these posts) to know...
In my experience as her friend and through all the posts she would make me post for her, the friends, fishermen, captains and mates she introduced us to, the boats we were on, the charters we booked and finding the best tackle shop ever that came jam packed with a whole new variety of friends too... Every single one of you made Marilyn's life complete, happy and fun filled.

It is so heart warming to read all the love, fondness, memories while we look back and miss her.

Marilyn read all of your posts here on this thread, she did not pass up the opportunity to brag and boast to everyone about the love, respect and prayers she received from all of you here. How nice, sweet and wonderful you all are. How much more special can one feel when even strangers post best wishes for you. But this is the fishing world, an endless group of over exaggerated stories, fun times, hard honest opinions and THE GREATEST FRIENDS AND PEOPLE ON THE FACE OF THE EARTH.

No matter how small the moment you may have had with her, you can bet your bottom dollar she remembered it, she could probably even tell us what you were wearing that day.

WE were all as important to her as she was to us. To her friends, I share my sympathy in our loss.

Sandi and I are discussing/ feeling around thoughts on organizing a memorial dinner in Marilyn's honor, exclusive to her fishing fish to come together, share stories, pictures, laughs and a celebration of her life and us knowing a once in lifetime person.

God Bless you all!!!!
