"Like an old Jewish man returning soup at the Deli" :D

Tried to get out in the afternoon...Wasn't bad in the Bay and Western end of the Knoll but boy did we take a pounding once we got to the False Hook and tried to head east.... 4 -5 footers stacked up right on top of eachother
Got the windshield wet a few times and knew it was going to be ugly drifting so we turned back into the bay.

No birds or real signs of life in the bay... We did make a few feable attempts to jig on some bait readings. No takers and since we were coming up on dead low, we headed back to the barn rather than wait out the tide change.

Water temp was 62 so it dropped a few degrees from the last time we were out. Once it hits the 50s it should be game on, hopefully in the bay too.

Similiar thing happened to me on the last weekend of the two week seabass season. I was coming around the hook and it was bad, 4-5 plus. I decided that since I already came the 12 miles from Morgan, I was going to try to push on down to the Rocks. When I got past the Cedars, it started to get tolerable and I was able to run 24 kts, all the way down. The wind was out the the NE, but there was a big, 4+ plus swell coming directly out of the east. We anchored up and it was a bit tippy in the Carolina Classic, but it was fishable. We did pretty good that day, each catching a nice keeper blackfish and a nice box full of keeper seabass.

You sometimes have to get away from the strong current around the Hook into open water to really see what the ocean is like. But, it also depends on the crew and what they are up to. If I was taking some seniors or my wife out, I'd think twice about taking them through the rough water.

No Hole in One, eh? :D (One of the best Seinfelds, ever.)

Hey, at least you tried. A couple more weeks and few cold shots and it'll be game on.

A trolling rod or two on board might of kept you out longer trolling inside.
