I am seeing too many pictures of bags and coolers of big Bluefish and big Stripers from a lot of the Party Boat reports. No one is putting their fish in a big cooler with plenty of ice and plenty of salt water to keep their fish plenty cold and NOT DISGUSTINGLY DRY!!!
I am not bashing party boats. It is not the Capt's responsibity. I just want too see customers and fishermen more informed. I don't even see many customers bleed both their blues and bass. I guess some just don't know.
I hope people don't waste fish. That is the only thing I wish they do not do. If they do not take care of their catch, it is WASTED!

Part of the problem is most guys don't have coolers to handle these sort of fish. Need to bring 120s to properly deal with 20lb blues.

It's funny, I noticed that too. The bass especially , gotta bleed them right away and stuff um in a saltwater slurry ... Pronto . The 14-20lb blues in a burlap sack are cat food as far as I'm concerned.

Get the mates to fillet these fish - it takes 1/4 th space and smoked bluefish is the best there is.

Not sure if you what you espouse is practical on a party boat.
As stated before the cooler size needed does not fit under a PB deckseat. And 40 guys bringing 40 coolers big enough to fit 10 medium-sized bluefish is fantasy land.
So how big is the cooler you bring on board and buckets to get your briny water?
What you suggest is great on a rec vessel with no fish box. But naively problematic on all but the emptiest of party boats. Maybe if you're limiting out with 2 winter flounder or 1 weakfish you can bring that cooler?
If they bleed the fish... cool. If they collar it and pack it with ice- cool. I'm sure you can educate them when you can. A pool winner candidate is not a good idea though. :)
