Surf was really kicking today and did not give up any keepers. Many early am shorts. Weather was great with North wind and plenty of sunshine.

Up and down the entire coast you can find fish here and there. Myself and 2 other guys fished some jettys in Monmouth county perfect conditions threw everything we had and only caught 2 shorts in 2 1/2 hours.

2 shorts is a heck of a lot better than the total skunkaroo. Thanks for the report

There was a NJ state ENVIRONMENTAL officer ( game warden) along the beach checking for short fish.He is responsible for all of the Raritan Bay beach fronts and from Sea Bright to Asbury Park beach fronts too. A welcome sight since some non-residents take whatever they catch. He game me his number and asked to pass it along to others and call him when illegal activity is noticed. He was about 30 years old and trying hard to keep things under control. He was on the beach for over 1 hour using binoculars to get a better view of things. I feel that the gov't, in this case , has spent the my money wisely. Gonna go out again Friday when the water settles down. See 'ya later, Robbie

What's the number... I'm tired of watching guys keeping EVERYTHING and having their kids running them up to their car to hide, pretending they didn't know they couldn't keep them

I agree to a degree especially when fish are way under the size limit or when people are keeping 4 or 5 fish. With that being said though, if I have been up since 2 or 3 in the morning and plugging for hours that 27 inch fish is coming home. My children don't know the difference
between a 27 inch and a 28 inch Fish when they are enjoying it at dinner.

So you're saying that if you try to obey the law long enough that it's OK to break it if you don't get the results you want? Do I have that right?
Please tell me you don't tell your kids that??? They might take it the wrong way and think it's OK to just go out and break the law as long as it is in their perceived best interest. Probably best to just lie to them and tell them the fish was legal...that way all you will do is teach them that it's OK to lie. The fact is that you don't agree at all with obeying the regulation...so just say it.
There are people out there trying to make a living at this fishing thing...if they have to follow the rules so should you.

Buddy we can agree to disagree, but one thing I am sure of is that you don`t put your directional on everytime and I am sure you do the best you can every year on your taxes. So before you judge look at yourself! Thanks

I took a look and...well you should ask before you assume is all I'm gonna say. That means I don't cheat on my taxes and I do use my directional stuff like that.... unless I forget...I'm not saying I'm perfect and never make a mistake...but making a mistake is much different than intentional action and teaching it to your kids.....at least in my book.
And I'm good with agreeing to disagree....I'm not judging I'm just trying to understand your point and disagreeing.

Buddy if you choose to be a Holy Roller good for you. You twisted my post and started talking about teaching my kids lessons and how I lie to my kids. Your response to my initial post was based upon your assumption and it was combative and looking for an argument because someone`s ideals are not the same as yours. I guess you can do that online. I `ve hopped and fished more jetty`s than you have read about let alone fished. All I am going to say is that everyone is entitled to their opinion and I have nothing more to say to some who is an arm chair fisherman from Bridgewater!!! Tightlines....
