Saved some seabass carcasses. Thinking of heading to Seaside or Mantaloking for crabs being as fishing is out for at least a week.

I've been on that site for years. Great for Crabbing.

To answer your question ... 2013 has been a terrible year for crabbing. Traditional spots NEVER turned on the Navesink or Shrewsbury.

Only sucess was moving about 10 times picking up 2's and 3's here and there.

Best producers are in LARGE AREA jugging with a few dozen traps worked on the right tide.

Not sure was Barnie did as I don't down that far south.

Hope that helps? Or PM me for more details.

When we stayed in Seaside the first 2 weeks of july the crabbing was good but mostly 4 1/2 to 5 inchers. I had 25 in 2 hours. Was hoping to get some bigger ones this week.

We did ok at the Oceanic for a week during end of July.
Got a bushel up to 7 1/2" but that was it

I heard Red Bank was dead all summer which is very unusual

We went 2 weeks ago and worked hard to keep 15 nice ones.

also have been a member. With all the bad reports I decided not even to go this year. Wouldn't be worth the gas and tolls, no matter how much fun it is.
