Monday Jamaica II Sea Bass

Mustered up go out on the Paramount Marathon. Didn't have enough to go. On the plus side dock fishing was good, I had 4 stripers with a 32" inch keeper and 4 short fluke. Then I went on the Jamaica II for the sea bass trip with a very light crowd. All this upcoming bad weather had them snapping pretty good. Every spot but the last had great action with some nice keepers. Last spot was dead because the seas had finally shut the fish down. Day started out ok with 3-4 foot, but wound up a solid 6 ft and nasty. I wound up with my limit of sea bass, mostly 13" fish, and maybe 60 other shorts, but with a few 16"ers. Ray Bryant had at or close to his limit on sea bass and won the pool with a 3lb tog. Most everyone else had 10 or more keeper sea bass.

I'll be down tomorrow. Weather looks ok. Maybe Ray will be down again 'cause the rest of the week don't look good.

Didn't ask Ray if he was making it a double. I know he wanted to catch more tog, but by the time we got to the best tog drop, mother nature had ruined the bite.

Cooler shot is mine. For honesty in reporting sake, the two fish I am posing with are Kenny's, as mine had already met the blade. Also his biggest two were bigger than my biggest two.

Even the 13"ers were porking up. Much thicker fillets than a few months ago.

I usually hold off until I have enough fish for dinner, then I'll feed the captain something.:D If no one ate them, thee should be some meatballs in your boat fridge.

*LOL* Good. I had three bags in the freezer and was afraid I would try to eat them all singlehandedly on a night the girlfriend was out.

Duff eats 4 or 5, tosses his cookies, and eats 4 or 5 more:eek: :)

Duffy actually buries meatballs in the parking lot so he has them for winter. :D This explains most of the potholes and sinkholes.
