Hi everyone! Just wanted to let all of you know that the free Costa Hat and Retainer with a Costa Sunglass purchase will continue to run through October. Just mention this post so that I know you are a NJFishing.com member. Also, just wanted to give you a Costa Sunglass update. The very cool Costa Rimless styles are now available with the mirror coated lenses, previously they were not. The pics below are of the Rockport-Black/Blue Mirror 580P, Galveston-Tortoise/Silver Mirror 580P and the Indio-Tortoise/Silver 580P. These rimless styles as well as the others are super light and so comfortable you do not even feel like you are wearing glasses. In addition they have the rubber on the inside of the frame that gets tacky and creates a grip so they stay put on your face. I have the Indio in the Tortoise/Silver Mirror 580 and the Grey 580 and love them. FYI - Currently the rimless styles are not available in prescription. Please let me know if you have any questions. Have a great weekend and I hope you all catch a lot of fish!

I am so glad I made the trip down south for my glasses! I saw what a great experience everyone else on this board was having with Eyes on First Ave and I was due to get new glasses and have my eyes checked and I wanted to get my first pair of prescription sunglasses.

My first time down there I met with Susan, who couldn't be more personable. Everything from speaking with her on the phone to being in the store. She took the time to show me frames based on what I wanted for my everyday use and then took the time to show me all the Costa's to ensure the right fit, lens color, and frame. She wasn’t interested in just making a sale and rushing me out the door. She explained all aspects about each Costa and made sure I got the right one for me and her opinion and advice was very helpful.

This past week, Jamie called me and told me my glasses were in and she was willing to mail them up to me so I didn’t have to make a second trip down south. However, my plans freed up for Saturday and instead I came back down to pick them up. I was super happy with getting them. Jamie was just as nice to meet as Susan.

I figured while I was going that way I would treat my mother to lunch at the shore... the weather was perfect for an outside service meal place. Even Jamie’s recommendation of The Inlet Café for lunch was a great choice!

I believe my loyalty has been earned here and I will be a patron of Eyes on First Ave in the future. Thanks Jamie and Susan for a very positive experience!

Jamie, Does Costa have Rx sunglasses, if not do you carry any other fisherman friendly sunglass brands with an Rx? Thanks.

Yes, every Costa sunglass can have a prescription put in it except for the rimless styles. You can get glasses for distance, bifocals or progressives. The prescription sunglasses are awesome and it truly is a customized sunglass where you pick out exactly what you want. First we find a frame that fits you well, works well with your prescription and one that you love. From there you can pick your frame color, lens color, material, mirror or non mirror etc... The prescription sunglasses look no different then the non prescription, they are exactly the same with the patented 580 Costa lens. The sunglasses are fabricated at the Costa Lab in Florida. Both Susan and I are licensed Opticians and we will help you figure out what options will work best for you. Eyes on First Ave is one of only three Premium RX Costa Outfitters in the state of New Jersey. The other two are much further south. I think in the Atlantic City, Cape May area. Premium RX Outfitters get the new styles first, have the largest selection and are the only ones authorized to do authentic prescription Costa Del Mar sunglasses. I hope that answers your questions and then some. I just wanted to give you as much information as possible about the prescription glasses, most people do not realize they can get them. Please let me know if you have any additional questions. You can also stop by the store or call me at 732 291 3937. Thank you!:)

Jamie, From what I've been told, I have a Rx that is difficult for curved lenses. If you give me an email address, I can scan an email you a 2 year old Rx to see if it can work in a Costa. Does your shop also do refractions? Thanks.

If you send me your RX I will let you know if you are within Costa's Prescription ranges. With the new technology in lens processing over the past two years, people that could not wear wrapped, curved style sunglasses with their RX can now. Again, depends on the RX. My email is eyesonfirstave@comcast.net. Call me at the store or private message me with your number after you email your RX to me. Yes, we can do refractions at the store. I have an Optometrist that works for me.

Thank you Mike for the kind words and great review. So happy that you were pleased with the service and your happy with both pairs of glasses. It was so nice to meet you and your Mom. Glad you had a great lunch at the Inlet Cafe. That is one of my favorite places to eat around here. FYI-They will cook your catch also in case anyone did not know that, Bahrs and Off the Hook in the Highlands will also do the same for a small fee. I hit up one of those places every time I go fishing and actually catch something!:D Please let me know if we can be of any additional service.

I emailed you this morning with my Rx.

Hi! I just took a look at your RX. If your prescription stays the same, you would be in the Costa Prescription Range. With the current RX you have no restrictions, you would be able to go with any Costa Sunglass style (except rimless styles because they are not RX able.) If it changes by alot, you may not be. We will have to take a look at the new RX to see if your still within range. With this RX you have the option of distance or progressives. I would recommend a new exam to make sure you have the most up to date RX before you invest in new sunglasses. Please let me know if you have any questions.:)

Stopped by the shop this morning with my buddy Tom to pick up his Costa's that were in need of repair. After 6 years the gaskets were coming loose. Looks like the just replaced and gave him new pair. Thats what I call customer service. Picked up my Free Costa Hat while I was there. Many thanks to Jamie and Susan for the great service they provide

Thanks Alex. Glad that we were able to help your friend out, sorry I missed you. Happy you got your Costa Hat as well!

Costa really stands behind their lifetime warranty against manufacturers defect. They are the only ones that have a lifetime warranty, most companies offer a one or two year. If anyone else has Costa's that need to be repaired under warranty, I would be happy to send them to Costa for you rather then you having to do it yourself. The only fee's to you would be their $11.95 processing fee and my shipping charges. As a Premium Outfitter, I get a quicker turnaround with repairs then you get if you send them in on your own. If you did not buy them from me no problem, I will do this as a courtesy for NJFishing.com members. Please let me know if you have any questions.
