Striped Bass- When to go out

I voted Spring because in recent years, that's when we've had our best runs with the largest fish live lining Bunker. My favorite way to fish.

However, this has not always been the case. Prior to 4 years ago I would have voted fall because that's when we had our best fishing.

Every year is different and I'm hoping this fall is a more typical one. Early fall night fishing eels, mid fall live lining Bunker and end of fall run and gun jigging chasing birds.

Either Spring or Fall but I like the Fall Jigging better. I think that you get more action . You may not get too many slobs but you are not dependent on catching live Bunker. Here's three Generations of Bass Slayers .

I put other for summer. Live-lining the last 2 weeks of June and first week of July has to be my favorite. Just standing there waiting for the freight train to hit. :D

I won't kill a single striper in the spring when they are headed to the spawning grounds, but I will take a few in the fall.
