Don't know the exact distance but around 7 to 8 miles ESE of the tip of the False Hook in the area just a bit short of where the Ambrose Liight used to be.

Is the mud bouy and mud dump one in the same?

I've been to the mud dump a few times and there is a bouy there. Is that the mud bouy?

Except that the NY Bouy (mud Bouy ) is not where it used to be. When I went out yesterday I didn't see the Bouy at all. It's on my chartplotter just not where it used to be. BA Bouy isn't there either . That was a big surprise.

Light tackle - I stopped there to drop my lines in to troll. There were boats setting up for bluefish. Every party boat in nj was there when I came in.

Buoys are noted on old charts , simple to check & obtain coordinates . any chart with Loran A or earlier, prior to GPS will show where buoys ,towers etc were located.

Capt Lou, I realize the old charts will show them, and I know the mud Bouy was moved apparently . But the BA Bouy is now where to be found... Was it moved also?

The BA to my knowledge is gone! It was located due east of 17 or about 10 mi SE of Ambrose horn , that's gone as well .
It was a significant tuna area since it marked the beginning of the deep !
In the 60&70's all size tuna caught in this area, that's over too for the most part!
