Headed out of the highlands around 5:30 in search of bonito, steamed straight for mud Bouy in conditions that got worse and worse, being on a solo mission decided to drop in my 4 rod spread of small tuna clones and a Clark spoon out short of the mud Bouy. Saw a few boats setting up for bluefish , thought for sure I'd get covered up by 14# blues, but nothin doin. Got my first fish right around 2 miles from the Bouy, and worked the area for a total of 5. Got fish on purple/black, green, and one knockdown on a Clark spoon.
The conditions where nowhere near what NOAA said either. It was 3-4ft and blowing NW 10-20 out there . Near the mud Bouy it wasn't bad, beyond that it got bumpy.
