& Ling destruction begins!
Capt. Hank was really dialed in on the fluke for the last week with boat limits by 11:30,but I had to put a stop to that! myself, reelron, davetats,UnclePaulie, Liberal Ralphy & the dirty orr wanted a good old mixed bag! fudge flukes!
started off inshore looking for triggers n scup but no takers just loads of mini sea bass. ran towards some sand for tog but no takers just 2lb sea bass that had to go back so capt. Hank said enough ordered everyone inside & steamed 45 minutes offshore. got set up picked a few ling in not so nice conditions. The crew began to worry so Capt. Hank said we on a mission & steamed off to the far eastern ledge of the cockolla canyon. conditions turned much nicer and the fishing got silly. as soon as you hit the bottom lings from 8 inches to 4lbs were coming up, 17 double headers on the day. Had a school of mahi come under the boat but didnt stay,Tats ruined the trip by going 0-3 on pilotfish at lobster pots& Captain Hank saw a Molly shark that no one else did.Ended with 220 ling,2 ravens, 10 throwback snowshoes,7 huge perch, loads of throwback pout  ,short skates, tons of sea bass released, 1 spearing, & 5 WHITING,I took route 70 home but couldn't find any smokehouses for them tho?
Captain Hank & Danny were excellent & tunes even better! also big happy bday to UP who @ 78 did not leave the rail all day long! Best of luck to Capt Hank & Danny on the new boat as well looks gorgeous! follow link for pics
