Saturday morning had Nick and crew out for a day to go chase some blue fins. Arrived at the grounds early and were covered up by false albies. No blue fin so after 2 hours on the troll we picked up and ran. Could not find any signs of life anywhere other then a few mahi off the pots. Things were not looking good for the tuna so around 2 decided to pick up and try one last spot to see if we could put something together. Was running around a bit looking for any life and then we finally found them. Tuna were stacked covering a 100 yard area. We dropped the jigs and it was game on. Double and triple hook ups. We could watch them eat the jigs below the boat. Ended up with 12 Bluefin and had a surprise yellowfin in the mix. No big fish but lots of them. Fish ranged from 20-40#s. Guys had a great time with the light tackle before we headed back home.
Sunday morning we had Mark and Lindsay for the first time ever fishing. Headed out for a half day of fluke fishing. We hung tight to the beach to protect us from the winds. Mark and Lindsay did great catching 6 keepers to 7#s and many shorts.
