I have done quite a bit of spring striper fishing but usually stick to bottom fishing for porgies and tog in the fall. Anywho, I've been able to get someone intrigued about striper fishing and would like to take him out this fall. When is the best time for action in the fall run? It can be either AH or Belmar, but any input would be helpful.

Best thing to do is watch the water temps- 60-58• and know when the bait is making a run for it, the fall isn't always a bonanza but you have a steady push longer than the spring, especially this one, the night time bite is already starting, just watch the boards here and you'll know when the timing is right , one of my favorite times of the season is when you can troll to the rocks get your limit of bass then go to tog territory and catch them next

The only days I would suggest you stay home, so as to avoid the chance of getting stormed out, would be the weekend of October 25 -- 27. That is the weekend of the Hi-Mar Fall Striper Tournament. About 95% guaranteed to be bad weather!

From experience I know that fishing a few days before will usually produce nice fish. Or if you want really great evening weather, anytime after noon on that Sunday, the 27th should be great!

Once the sun breaks thru on Sunday afternoon, stop down at Bhars Tiki bar and listen to all the tall tails, pick up some pointers, maybe listen in on a few conversations to pick up some new spots  , and maybe buy a few raffle tickets as we have some great prizes again this year!

Hope to see you there.

Oct.,Nov,and Dec weather permitting. In the spring, mid april thru early July. When fluke closes the bass will be the mainstay until tog opens up.Ilike Oct for elling and Nov for jigging!
